PURPOSE

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the teachings of the OT and to identify ourselves as Christians in the journey of God’s chosen people, the Israelites.

SPECIFIC GOALS

. Learn about the historical development of the Sacraments within Catholic Tradition
. Learn about the biblical roots of the Sacraments
. To understand the difference between a sacrament and a sacramental
. To see how the sacraments are an intrinsic part of the church’s mission and worship
. To understand how the sacraments reveal God’s love for us throughout our lives

TEXT

Each student is required to purchase the Catholic Youth Bible, NAB translation and “Our Sacramental Life.” It will be your responsibility to bring your Bible and textbook to class each day. DO NOT LOAN YOU BIBLE TO A FRIEND. In addition, you will be given photocopied worksheets and articles to supplement your Bible. YOU ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A THREE RING BINDER W/ POCKETS. A Marker is also suggested to highlight specific passages from the Bible.

GRADING FOR THIS CLASS AND CLASS POLICIES ARE THE SAME AS FOR HEBREW SCRUPTURES...
