HEBREW SCRIPTURES PROJECT
An important part of your grade this quarter will be the completion of a project. This is your opportunity to creatively compile your research on a specific topic. You may choose one of the following options:
Write a minimum 5 page paper on any person, event or book or issue associated with the Old Testament (at least 3 sources needed).
--OR--You may choose a more creative option…..
a. Retell the biblical story from the “other” side: Satan’s view of the Fall, an Egyptian’s view of the Exodus, Goliath’s view of the battle with David, the Canaanite’s view of the invasion of the Hebrews.
b. Prepare a portfolio of 5 characters done in pen and ink, watercolors, or pastels. Include a character description of each portrait (one typewritten paragraph per character).
c. Make a collection of maps related to Jewish history, showing significant events, moves and territories (one page typewritten summary).
d. Design a poster of original book jackets or album covers for biblical books. Write blurps for the book jackets or albums (at least 5).
e. Prepare a series of drawings from some of the more dramatic scenes from the Bible (one paragraph typewritten summary for each drawing).
f. Create a collage of a biblical character or episode using pictures and words cut from magazines (must be accompanied with a 2 page typewritten reflection on your theme).
g. Invent posters, buttons, slogans, or commercials for a Bible story (at least 5)
h. Write an interview of a biblical person.
i. Record a current event in biblical style.
j. Write the diary of a character in the Bible.
k. Make an illustrated booklet of favorite passages from the OT (at least 10).
All topics must be approved by me prior to completion.
All written works have a 5 page minimum requirement and must be typewritten in Times New Roman, 12 font.
Please note that this project will be due on December 17th…NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

THANKSGIVING BREAK HOMEWORK
For those students who meet on Wednesday, 11/21, you must read pages 134-138 in you textx and answer #1-3 on page 138. You will be given a take home quiz on Wednesday that you must complete over the long break. Those students meeting on Tuesday, 11/20, both the assignment and the take home quiz will be due on Monday, 11/26.
